Bryan Southworth Doctoral Candidate
PMBA/OMBA Program Manager, University of Connecticut School of Business
Bryan is an experienced and innovative student services practitioner with a demonstrated history of program development, oversight, and implementation in higher education. Specializing in educational leadership, Bryan’s passion is stewarding transformative, adaptable, and ethical leadership that helps both staff & students reach their full potential. With this in mind, Bryan’s mission is to help develop and equip Future-capable leaders with enough agency to navigate the future of work while adapting to 21st Century realties. Operating as a futurist, Bryan aligns his extensive background in foreign policy and Middle Eastern/North African Affairs [MENA], with his current work in Higher Education. The intersecting futures of higher education, work, and leadership, and the uncertainty associated with these intersecting futures, will create challenges and opportunities for people and organizations. We are feeling the impact of these challenges and opportunities now. Referencing Game of Thrones, “the winter is not coming, the winter is here” (House Stark, 2018). To such ends, Bryan is completing a Doctoral dissertation that explores the interplay between the future of work, 21st century student readiness, and how faculty perceive the dynamism and importance of such intersections.
